Royal Blue Grocery Brings Convenience to the Dallas Arts District

A new, convenient shopping experience is coming to downtown Dallas this spring with the addition of Royal Blue Grocery at Trammell Crow Center. This gourmet market with locally sourced items also includes a café and a patio overlooking the Dallas Museum of Art. As Royal Blue Grocery opens, urban residents and office workers will not only love the location, but will be able to take advantage of a variety of offerings including prepared foods, grocery essentials, and indulgences.

Royal Blue Grocery started in downtown Austin in 2005 and has grown to six stores in that area. Dallas’ Highland Park Village location opened in 2015 in partnership with local investor Zac Porter. The new downtown store will expand over 3,300 square feet, Porter told Dallas News. And with a population of 55,000 residents within a 2.5-mile radius of downtown, there is an increased need for convenient grocery options. A store of this caliber is sure to bring additional flavor to the area.

Each Royal Blue Grocery is unique and designed to meet the needs of the neighborhood it serves, according to the store’s website. Downtown residents will fall in love with these main benefits:

gourmet meal planning, made simple

One of the greatest advantages of the new location is that locals will have easy access to inspired weekly meal ideas. For both on-the-go professionals and busy working parents, the store “offers a little bit of everything,” including grab-and-go choices like freshly prepared sandwiches, new soups daily, and warm bakery items.

Specialty foods will also be featured regularly on social media, and the store offers a newsletter that describes new products for customers to enjoy. Shoppers will be able to anchor their weekly meal plan around their favorite recurring items, or new flavors advertised that week.

catering for the foodie

Urban dwellers who lead active, social lives will be thrilled with Royal Blue Grocery’s catering options for large-scale meetings or spontaneous parties. From organic ingredients for a gourmet charcuterie board to an assortment of delectable sweets, there is a perfect menu for any gathering. Partygoers will rave at the taste — and party planners will rave at the ease — of Royal Blue Grocery’s catering menu options.

special events made easy

For a unique evening out, friends can expand their palate in a fun atmosphere at one of the store’s regular tasting events. For more casual gatherings, the convenient onsite café serves custom salads, warm pastries, and an array of made-to-order sandwiches that can be enjoyed on the beautiful outdoor patio.

These venues are designed to bring people together easily over new foods and exclusive wines, turning a long day at the office into a stress-free evening away from the kitchen.

daily essentials

Royal Blue Grocery not only offers a wide variety of specialty items and weekly features, but also boasts those essential, staple ingredients to help stock the daily pantry or fridge. Aside from the basics, shoppers will have immediate access to satisfy cravings for homemade pimento cheese, Italian sandwiches for their lunch break, and that all-too-important cup of coffee made by the famous Stumptown Coffee Roasters in Portland, Oregon.

tips for urban grocery shopping

Royal Blue Grocery will bring a one-stop epicurean destination to the Dallas Arts District, but there are a few ways to be prepared for an urban grocery shopping experience.

For the many shoppers who will be walking to and from the store, investing in a few essential supplies will make sure that shopping trip does not end with groceries on the sidewalk. Sturdy, reusable shopping bags are environmentally friendly and easier to carry on the journey home. Specialty bags are available that will keep meat, dairy, and produce fresh for those who want to relax on the patio with a cup of coffee before heading home. And if the trek is longer, shoppers should consider a good quality cart, like this one, so they never have to limit items to what they can carry.
