The Dallas Farmers Market is one of the few places in the country where farmers sell their crops directly to customers. And because it’s located downtown, it’s the perfect shopping spot for residents, office workers and visitors looking for a taste of Texas at its freshest. Plus, with extras like cooking classes, a collection of international merchants, flower and gardening vendors, and a full calendar of events, there’s something to suit every taste at the Dallas Farmers Market.
Established in 1903, the Museum features an outstanding collection of more than 23,000 works of art from around the world, from ancient to modern times. The Museum also has a long history of providing varied and dynamic programs, events, and exhibitions to engage our visitors more fully with the art.
The aquarium features more than 85,000 gallons (321,800) of saltwater with marine life from around the world. Walk through the 22,000-gallon (83,280) tunnel to experience a panoramic view of reef life. Many animals found at the top of the food chain can be seen in the Predators exhibit. Ten 2,000-gallon (7,571) displays present marine life from around the world - Palau, Southern Australia, Lord Howe Island, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Bahamas, British Columbia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Japan. Representing the waters of four continents, three oceans and various seas, the aquarium gives a glimpse of the underwater world.
The mission of the Nasher Sculpture Center is to be an international focal point and catalyst for the study, installation, conservation and appreciation of modern and contemporary sculpture.
Celebrity chef Stephan Pyles lends his name and creativity to Southwestern restaurant in the Dallas Arts District. A glass wall overlooking Ross glows with the warmth of crackled glass ceiling lamps, candles and an open kitchen equipped with wood-burning oven. Inside, artwork by local artist Rusty Scruby lends drama to the muted earth tones in the fabrics and architectural elements.
The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza contains a permanent historical exhibition dealing with the life, times, death, and legacy of John F. Kennedy with a focus on the impact of his death on the nation and the world. The subject is documented illustrated Through the use of nearly 400 photographs, 45 minutes of documentary films, artifacts, graphs, charts, and other related interpretive materials.

Bahama Beach is a medium-sized water park with a good collection of attractions including the Coconut Cove interactive water play area with a dump bucket, The Tortugas Express, a multi-lane mat racing ride, the Bermuda Triangle waters slides, and the Calypso Cooler lazy river.
The mission of the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall is to serve as a permanent home to major performing arts organizations of Fort Worth and as a premiere venue for other attractions so as to enhance the range, quality, and accessibility of cultural fare available to the public; to promulgate arts education; and to contribute to the cultural life of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, and the region.
The Dallas Arboretum, one of the finest show gardens in the Southwest, is alive with color year-round. What may not be so obvious is the groundbreaking research that is supposed by the Arboretum, which is a testing grounds for new plants to be used throughout the United States.
The Dr Pepper Youth Ballpark is a state-of-the-art facility designed for youth league baseball and softball. Located directly north of Ameriquest Field, the Dr Pepper Youth Ballpark is perfect for youth baseball games, tournaments, birthday parties, and corporate group outings. This replica of Ameriquest Field is equipped with an electronic scoreboard, PA system, full concession stand, dugouts, clubhouses, and lights. Professional umpires and trophy/award presentations can be provided.
The Kimbell Art Museum's holdings range in period from antiquity to the 20th century, including masterpieces by Duccio, Fra Angelico, Mantegna, Caravaggio, El Greco, La Tour, Rubens, Velázquez, Rembrandt, Houdon, Goya, David, Monet, Cézanne, Picasso, Matisse, and Mondrian. The Museum is one of the few institutions in the Southwest with a substantial collection of Asian arts, and has also assembled small but select collections of Pre-Columbian and African art, as well as Classical, Egyptian, and Near Eastern Antiquities.
The first park of the Six Flags chain, Six Flags Over Texas has added a NEW nightly parade, NEW costumed characters and 10 NEW rides! Over 47 rides, 11 of them roller coasters, there are daily shows, shops and many restaurants.
Located just north of downtown Fort Worth in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, one of America’s most vibrant metropolitan areas, Texas Motor Speedway is a state-of-the-art facility that plays host to stock-car and open-wheel racing as well as other major events throughout the year. Construction began in 1995 at Texas Motor Speedway, with the original configuration calling for a dual-banking system that had 24 degrees of banking for stock cars and 8 degrees for open-wheel cars. On April 5, 1997, Mark Martin won the Busch Series race on the opening weekend of competition at Texas Motor Speedway. The next day, Jeff Burton won the inaugural Cup Series race, the Interstate Batteries 500 in front of a sellout crowd.
The African American Museum is the only museum in the Southwestern United States devoted to the preservation and display of African American artistic, cultural and historical materials. It also has one of the largest African American folk art collections in the United States. The African American Museum incorporates a wide variety of visual art forms and historical documents that portray the African American experience in the United States, Southwest, and Dallas.
Four diorama halls which include fifty dioramas of Texas wildlife, each using real specimens from the Museum’s collections, including all major biotic provinces of Texas. Other permanent halls include: Ocean Dallas, Ice Age Dallas, Paleo Prep Lab, Live Animal Room, Texas Dinosaurs Hall; Verizon Technology Center; Science Bulletins. The Museum also has a traveling exhibits program which brings a new exhibit every 3-4 months covering a wide range of topics.
A Smithsonian affiliate, The Women's Museum: An Institute for the Future makes visible the unique, textured, and diverse stories of American women. Using the latest technology and interactive media, the Museum's exhibits and programs expand our understanding of women's participation in shaping our nation's history and create a lively environment for dialogue and discovery.
